SUMMARY:

๐ŸŒณโœจ Wish Tree Project โ€“ MTMC 2024 โœจ๐ŸŒณ

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to bring a childโ€™s unspoken wish to life? Thatโ€™s exactly what the Wish Tree Project (27thโ€“29th September, 2024), in collaboration with VSO & MAHE, sought to achieve for underprivileged children from Manpita, Jamshedpur.

A tree bearing wishes of children (ages 5โ€“15) was placed on campus. Faculty and students could pick a wishโ€”whether a football, bat, art supplies, or moreโ€”and fulfill it directly or contribute financially. What may have seemed like a small gesture to us became a cherished dream realized for a child.

๐ŸŽฏ Goal: To spread happiness among children while reinforcing values of caring and sharing.

Aims & Objectives:

  • Cultivate a culture of giving and social responsibility.

  • Build empathy and awareness by connecting directly with childrenโ€™s aspirations.

  • Ensure transparency and accountability in the process of giving.

  • Encourage inclusive participation across students, faculty, and volunteers.

  • Celebrate the joy of philanthropy beyond Daan Utsav, fostering sustainable community values.

Impact & Importance:

The Wish Tree bridged inequalities, raised awareness of real challenges, and inspired inclusive contribution. It strengthened community bonds and promoted long-term compassion, proving that giving brings joy not only to recipients but also to givers.

Leadership Skills in Action:

From communication, delegation, problem-solving, and relationship-building to visionary thinking, time management, and integrity, the volunteers demonstrated teamwork and dedication. Despite challenges, their shared goal united them, ensuring every child received their gift with love.

๐Ÿ’ก A Collective Success:

With efforts from VSO, NEST members (Haneen, Sanjana Jha, Shalini Mishra), and faculty coordinators Dr. Vijay Kautilya D. & Dr. Khushboo Juneja, the project was completed successfullyโ€”leaving behind not just happy smiles, but also a legacy of compassion.

๐ŸŒŸ Because true celebration lies in sharing. ๐ŸŒŸ
