๐ฑ Leadership Lessons from Project Muskan
Key leadership skills developed include:
- Visionary Thinking: We envisioned a project that not only addressed immediate child health concerns but could scale across communities. It challenged us to think beyond short-term interventions and design a model that could be replicated across regions
- Empathy & Active Listening: By listening to parents and caregivers with empathy, we built trust and tailored our sessions to their real concerns.
- Strategic Planning: Every detail, from content flow to camp logistics, was planned to ensure smooth execution and meaningful engagement.
- Teamwork & Coordination: Collaborating across roles, we worked as a cohesive team to manage awareness sessions, check-ups, and community outreach.
- Community Engagement: We actively involved local families, making them equal partners in the mission to improve pediatric health practices.
- Advocacy & Health Communication: We simplified complex health messages and tackled taboos with clarity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.
- Problem-Solving Under Constraints: Despite limited resources, we adapted quicklyโwhether it was managing space, turnout, or spontaneous questions.
- Accountability: Each member took ownership, ensuring every promise made to the community was fulfilled with sincerity.
- Leading by Inspiration: Instead of just giving instructions, we led through actionโmotivating peers and communities by example.
- Scalable Project Design: Muskan was designed with replication in mindโpaving the way for expansion across every ward of Burdwan.
