“One spark of awareness can light up a lifetime of healthy choices.”
🗓 Date: January 15, 2025 | 📍 NIMS&R, Jaipur
In a powerful step toward shaping healthier futures, NIMS&R hosted Project TO-FEI — a tobacco control awareness campaign aimed at making educational spaces safe and substance-free. This initiative, under the NIMS Mental Health and Anti-Narcotics Club, targeted the rising concern of tobacco usage among youth and sought to replace misinformation with awareness.
💡 Why This Initiative Mattered
Tobacco use continues to infiltrate younger minds, often glamorized through peer influence and social trends. Be it cigarettes, weed, or chewing tobacco, the illusion of “coolness” masks the long-term harm and addiction. TO-FEI was born out of the urgent need to challenge this narrative and educate students before addiction takes root.
📌 What We Did
We conducted an interactive quiz competition to test and teach students about the dangers of tobacco and its addictive nature. Through engaging questions and real-time feedback, we encouraged participants to think critically about the choices they make — especially those that affect their health and future.
🧠 What We Learned
While we cannot undo all habits overnight, we can spark a shift in mindset. Conversations initiated through TO-FEI helped participants reflect on how substances can quietly control one’s life, and how breaking the cycle starts with awareness.
🧘 A Message to Our Generation
“Your mind is meant to guide you — not to be guided by cravings.”
Genetics may change over time, but so does the power of informed choices. We urge every student to seek support, consult professionals, and prioritize their well-being over temporary highs. Addiction is not just a habit; it’s a silent hijacker of dreams.
Addiction is not just a habit; it’s a silent hijacker of dreams.
