Dr. Priti Prasad Shah Professor of General Surgery | MEU Coordinator Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Pune
Dr. Priti Prasad Shah is a respected surgeon and academician with over 30 years of clinical experience and more than 20 years of teaching expertise. As Professor of General Surgery and MEU Coordinator at Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Pune, she is deeply involved in advancing medical education, skills training, and faculty development. She holds an MS in General Surgery from Indore University and multiple fellowships including FAIMER, FIAGES, FAIS, and FICS-IS. Widely recognized as a faculty trainer and mentor, Dr. Shah has contributed to numerous national CMEs, conferences, and educational workshops, and has published over 30 research papers and case reports

Naari-Ujjwal is a student-led initiative aimed at empowering rural women through entrepreneurship and self-reliance. What began as a classroom activity evolved into a movement fostering confidence, leadership, and community growth – proving that when women rise, the nation progresses.

Project – ResQ – Decode the Code , Every Second Counts
Project ResQ is a student-led patient safety initiative focused on strengthening awareness of hospital emergency codes among medical students. What began as an academic learning exercise evolved into a critical preparedness program—reinforcing the idea that timely knowledge, calm response, and teamwork can save lives during medical emergencies.

Project – Jeevandhara : Raktadaan – Jeevandaan
Every Drop Counts. Every Life Matters.
Project Jeevandhara is a student-led awareness initiative aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation by addressing myths, fears, and lack of awareness surrounding this life-saving act. What began as an educational effort within the medical college evolved into a community-oriented movement—reinforcing the belief that informed minds can inspire responsible action and save countless lives.

Breaking the Silence on PCOS in Rural Women
An UNSAID PANDEMIC is a student-led assessment and awareness initiative focused on highlighting the silent physical, psychological, and social burden of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) among rural women. What began as an academic public health exercise evolved into a platform for dialogue, education, and advocacy—aimed at breaking stigma and promoting early intervention for a condition often suffered in silence.

Project – Sahaara
Nutrition Today. Healthier Tomorrows.
Project Sahaara is a student-led public health initiative aimed at assessing the nutritional status of orphanage children through anthropometric methods and strengthening caregiver awareness based on evidence-driven findings. What began as an academic nutrition assessment evolved into a structured intervention—highlighting the role of early detection, caregiver empowerment, and sustainable monitoring in improving child health outcomes.

Project – Beyond The Cradle
Breaking the Silence Around Postpartum Depression
Beyond the Cradle is a student-led mental health awareness initiative focused on early identification, understanding, and support for postpartum depression (PPD) among pregnant women (2nd and 3rd trimester), new mothers, and their families. What began as an academic outreach effort evolved into a compassionate platform for dialogue—aimed at reducing stigma, encouraging early help-seeking, and strengthening family support systems for maternal mental health.
