This website is operated by the student leadership team of NEST (Network of Student Leaders). The official website is https://www.nestleaders.in.

It is hosted and maintained by the NEST Web Team under the Catalyst Scheme.

2. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, including:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Comment content

  • IP address

  • Browser user agent (used to detect spam)

An anonymized string (hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check if you’re using their profile service.

Once your comment is approved, your name and profile picture may be visible to the public.

3. Media Uploads

If you upload images to the website (e.g. in submissions or comments), we recommend that you remove location metadata (EXIF/GPS). Visitors can extract this data if present.

a. Comment Cookies

If you leave a comment, your name, email, and site info may be saved in cookies for your convenience. These last for one year.

b. Login Cookies

  • Temporary cookie is set on login page to check cookie compatibility — deleted when you close your browser.

  • Login cookies last 2 days (or 2 weeks if “Remember Me” is selected).

  • Screen preference cookies last 1 year.

c. Editor Cookies

When you edit or publish a post, a cookie is stored that expires after 1 day and contains no personal data.

Articles and project pages may include embedded content such as:

  • YouTube videos

  • LinkedIn screenshots

  • Google Forms or Maps

This content behaves just as if you visited that external site directly. Those websites may:

We are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third-party platforms.

6. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

  • Share form responses within the NEST team (e.g. for project reviews)

  • Store email/contact info for project verification

7. How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and related metadata are retained indefinitely to help auto-approve future replies.

🔹 Accounts (If any)

If you register on our site, your personal info is saved in your user profile.

You can:

  • View or edit your details anytime

  • Request account deletion

    Admins can also manage this data.

You can request:

  • A file of all data we’ve stored about you (e.g. form submissions, comments)

  • Deletion of any personal data we hold

This excludes data required for:

  • Administrative purposes

  • Legal obligations

  • Form submissions and comments may be scanned using automated spam filters (e.g. Akismet, CleanTalk).

  • Uploaded content may be checked for file type and size.

  • Certain forms may be connected to Google Drive.

If you opt in to receive updates or join the team:

  • Your name and email are stored securely

  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the footer link or by contacting us

We use this data only for NEST-related updates, not third-party promotions.

11. Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for users aged 18 and above, primarily medical students and faculty.

If you believe someone under 18 has submitted data, contact us and we’ll remove it promptly.
