NEST X NIMS
At NIMS Jaipur, leadership isnβt taught, itβs cultivated trough experience, mentorship, and purpose-driven action. In 2024, the institute joined the NEST leadership programme with a powerful start: a group of passionate medical students stepping up to design healthcare solutions beyond the classroom.
Their journey began with the Phase 1- The Leadership Induction Workshop in October 2024. An intensive, hands-on program that introduced students to the practical dimensions of teamwork, communication, and initiative. Led by experienced faculty and NEST coordinators, Dr. Sumita Sethi and Dr. Renu Garg, the sessions encouraged critical thinking, real-time collaboration, and project ideation tailored to local healthcare challenges.

Following this, students progressed into Phase 2, where the focus shifted to implementation. Each team began working on their chosen project; ranging from community wellness to campus-based awareness campaigns, supported by regular mentorship check-ins. This phase emphasized problem-solving in real-world contexts, documentation, and accountability, preparing students for independent leadership.
In Phase 3, held during a review workshop in May 2025, project teams shared their outcomes, challenges, and impact. The session featured presentation of their project reports after completion on LinkedIn, along with feedback from NEST mentors. It marked the transition from guided learning to sustainable leadership. Many students now mentor the next cohort, ensuring that the cycle of peer-to-peer learning continues.
Unlike conventional classroom training, this workshop emphasized learning by doing. Through interactive activities, open dialogue, and real-world problem-solving, NIMS students began shaping a new narrative; one where they are not just learners, but active contributors to healthcare transformation. As the first wave of student-led projects now take root, the NEST presence at NIMS continues to grow. What began as a workshop is becoming a movement: driven by student leaders, guided by mentors, and built on a shared vision of innovation and service.
The future of healthcare leadership at NIMS is already in motion- one project, one leader, and one community at a time.
