You do the work, we back you.
We fund you, and we teach you to lead.
Because we don’t want the credit.
We just want you to succeed.

Frequently Asked Questions
NEST (Network of Student Leaders) is a student-driven initiative that empowers medical students to take leadership beyond academics. It connects institutions across India, supports impactful projects, and builds a culture of collaboration, innovation, and self-sustained growth within the medical community.
NEST is coordinated by a core team of student leaders and faculty mentors. Key verticals like content, workshops, outreach, and website are handled by selected student volunteers across various colleges — working together under assigned leads. It’s leadership in action, driven by collaboration.
Students can join NEST through:
Attending official leadership workshops (Mandatory) ,
Workshop hosted in your college by NEST
Ask college authority to connect with us
Once onboarded, students can take roles in various verticals and contribute directly.
To develop holistic, ethical, and practical leadership skills through:
Active mentorship
Campus-based experiential learning
National-level project sharing and networking
Students are trained, mentored, and gradually handed the baton to lead future cohorts.
🕒 Not at all. Workshops are usually short-term and planned in consultation with college schedules.
📚 All other tasks — projects, posting, leadership — are asynchronous and extracurricular.
NEST supports student-led initiatives in:
🩺 Community health outreach
🧠 Peer mentoring & teaching
💡 Medical education reform
🧪 Research & documentation
🌐 Digital innovation in healthcare
The vision? Train, Empower, and Pass the Baton — each generation inspires the next
NEST is designed to be legacy-based, not personality-based. Every vertical, including the website and workshops, has documentation and a handover model. Each new team learns from the last and adds their own growth, creating a continuous chain of leadership.
No. NEST is an independent student-led network, supported within institutions like PGIMS Rohtak & BPS Khanpur by faculty mentors. It isn’t governed by any council, university, or regulatory body. The model is peer-powered, vision-driven, and sustained through voluntary leadership.
NEST is supported by the MERCS Grant 2023, awarded by AMEE – an international association for medical education (UK). There is no external data sharing, and the platform is fully student-driven.
NEST uses an apprenticeship model based on Lave and Wenger’s framework. Students:
Begin with Phase 1: Workshop Training
Move to Phase 2: Campus Projects
Then enter Phase 3: National Collaboration & Leadership Roles
Leadership here grows by doing.
